Bio: Matt is a left-handed pitcher joining the Lunkers from Loyola Marymount University. A freshman, Matt arrived in Los Angeles to play for the LMU Lions after graduating from Mission Viejo High School (Calif.). In his first season, he pitched predominantly out of the bullpen. The Mission Viejo native earned All-League and All-City honors during his senior season, in which he excelled both on the mound and at the plate (5-3 record; .420 BA). The son of Sharon and Mark Florer, Matt comes from an athletic family, as his father was on the rowing team at the University of Washington. After his baseball career, Matt aspires to be a broadcast journalist.
