BRAINERD Minnesota--A seven run eighth inning for the visiting Rochester Honkers propelled them to a come-from-behind 8-6 victory.
Ian Horkley entered the inning with a four run lead and while he ran into trouble, as a ground ball off of the bat of Bryan Karraker rolled to shortstop Adam Koglin it appeared as the Lunkers would get out of the inning maintining the lead. Koglin, however, overran the grounder, and the error allowed the Honkers to tie the game.
The very next hitter, Richie Jimenez, knocked a single into center field to bring home the go-ahead run. The Honkers would tack on two more with Drew Beurelein's two-rbi double, giving them the three run cushion they needed to come away on top.
The Lunkers wasted a terrific effort from Matt Florer, who, in his first start went six innings allowing only one run.
Russ Hopkins picked up three hits for the Lunkers. He has collected five hits in his first eight at-bats for the Lunkers this season.
The series will conclude tomorrow night from Stewart C. Mills Field, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
