ALEXANDRIA Minnesota--Jake McLain's came up big for the second straight night, collecting a two-run single in the fifth, propelling the Lunkers (3-0) to a 10-3 victory over the Alexandria Beetles (0-3), completing the sweep.
McLain's single brought home T.J. Berge to tie the game and, after rightfielder Eric Birch misplayed McLain's hit, David Albritton came around to score. Those two runs were the first of eight unanswered. Berge led the Lunkers offensively, collecting four hits on the evening and scoring three runs.
Charlie Henderson got the start for the Lunkers. After two strong innings, he was roughed up in the third for three runs. He was helped by his bullpen though, which contributed six scoreless innings, including four from Aaron Sapp (1-0), making his Lunkers debut.
The Lunkers travel to St. Cloud to begin a two game series against the River Bats. Tomorrow’s game begins at 7:05 p.m. at Joe Faber Field.
