The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers are proud to announce the hiring of Mike Jacobson as the new Assistant Operations Manager. This will be Jacobson's first year in the Northwoods League and he is very eager to make an impact on the upcoming 2010 season.
"This is a very exciting opportunity for me and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the Lunkers," Jacobson said. "The Lunkers made a big impact in the Lakes Area in 2009 and I look forward to continuing to build upon the groundwork that was laid last season."
Originally from the Twin Cities, Jacobson is a 2009 graduate of St. John's University with a degree in Social Sciences. While attending St. John’s he played soccer and worked in the athletic department.
"Mike is a fresh face in an organization and a guy that can bring new ideas and enthusiasm everyday to the ballpark," said team owner and general manager Joel Sutherland. "Mike will be a great addition to the Lunkers and we are fortunate to have him."
The Lunkers are members of the Northwoods League, one of the finest summer collegiate leagues in the nation that had more than 135 players drafted into professional baseball in 2009. For more information call the Lunkers office at 218-824-3474 or visit www.lunkersbaseball.com.
