ST. CLOUD Minnesota--The Lunkers' bats come out from hibernation on Sunday night, as the team erupted for 15 hits en route to 9-1 win.
Kyle Teague (2-0) gave the Lunkers what they needed on the hill, going seven innings of six-hit, one-run baseball, striking out five.
But it was the offense that told the story on Father's Day for the Lunkers. They got three hits from David Allbritton, Tommy Reyes, and Matt Hillsinger.
The star, though, was T.J. Berge, whose two hits helped him snap out of a slump, and helped get the Lunkers going, as his single in the second plated the first run of the ball game, and his triple in the seventh added two more runs.
Joe Kurrasch lasted only four innings for St. Cloud, giving up four runs on seven hits.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Lunkers. It tied their longest losing skid of the short season.
Matt Hillsinger extended his hitting streak to 11 games, collecting his second straight multi-hit performance.
The Lunkers return home on Monday to host the Duluth Huskies. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm from Stewart C. Mills Field.
