ST. CLOUD Minnesota—Brandon Boykin’s bases loaded single in the eighth inning scored two runs and powered the Bats to a 6-3 win. His single broke a 3-3 tie, as the Bats tacked on another later in the inning.
David Allbritton’s oppopsite field single on a full count in the eighth tied the game, but Brandon Baumgartner loaded the bases in the home half as the Lunkers squandered an opportunity to hit for the win in the ninth inning.
Charlie Henderson pitched well for the Lunkers, going six innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out his final batter, as he collected the no-decision.
Andy Berry exited the game after seven innings with an opportunity to get the win, surrendering only two runs on six hits, but ultimately gets the no-decision.
Matt Lewis, pitching one inning of relief, giving up one run, gets the win, his first of the season. Pitching the ninth inning, Matt Chaffee collected his first save of the season.
